How bonus finds work
Bonus finds are accepted dictionary words other than the clue answers. Build a word of 4 or more letters through touching tiles before you solve all 3 clue answers; the board locks after the last one. Diagonals count; you can’t reuse a tile in the same word.
Points by length: 4 letters = 1; 5 = 2; 6 = 3; 7 = 5; 8+ = 11.
Each bonus word counts once. Bonus points appear in your share result, and bonus finds count toward bonus-word badges. Only the three clue answers complete the field.

Each hidden word has its own clue, then up to two free starting letters—one at a time. More letters are optional and use your Plus monthly allowance or letter credits. Hinted tiles use the color of their word's clue and are numbered in route order; shared tiles show each word's marker. Choose a hint button to reveal help. Keyboard: Tab to a hint button, then press Enter or Space. Hints affect Clean Sweep only; other rewards still count.
Join touching letters to spell the three related words. Your path can zigzag; diagonals count, a tile may serve two words, and each word uses a tile only once. Extra dictionary words can score points until the last answer locks the board. In NVDA, press NVDA+Space to switch to Focus mode so the arrow keys control the board.
Follow touching letters in order. The route can turn and move diagonally.
Example: B, E, N, D. Start at the upper left, move right, then diagonally down-right and diagonally down-left. Each letter touches the previous one.
How to play
- Read the clueSolve any one of the three related answers, each at least four letters long.
- Build a letter pathTap or swipe touching squares forward or backward. Diagonals count, and matching tiles can be shared between words.
- Keep diggingOne answer completes the quick dig; all three complete the full dig and lock the board. Before you solve all 3 clue answers, spell other accepted words of 4+ letters for bonus points. Each counts once: 1 point (4 letters), 2 (5), 3 (6), 5 (7), or 11 (8+).
Keyboard: Tab visits every letter. Arrows move up, down, left, or right; Shift+↑ moves ↖, Shift+→ moves ↗, Shift+↓ moves ↘, and Shift+← moves ↙. Space or Enter activates the focused tile; Backspace removes the last letter; Escape clears the path.

Bonus words use a broad American English spelling list. Proper names and some regional or rare words may not count. Answer paths are checked by Lexcavate's server; bonus-word spelling checks stay on this device.
